Living in Australia

As soon as you know where in Australia you'll be attending university, it's time to start looking for a place to stay that will work for you. Housing for students is typically in great demand and requires advanced preparation. The total cost will be different according to the state, city, and housing options you select. So research how much money you'll need to move to a new state. Try to verify the full price and any additional fees, such as regular gas, water and electricity bills. Think about how far away your home is from your university and whether or not it can be reached by bus, tram, or train and determine the proximity to grocery stores, pharmacies, hospitals, and other medical facilities. Several options for students are:

  1. On-campus accommodation

Many schools and universities offer residence halls for their students. The benefits of doing so are numerous. To begin with, it enables you, as an international student, to establish a residence close to your classes and student services. When you're still getting your bearings in a new city, this is an invaluable resource. There is also the convenience of having a one monthly payment that covers your food, utilities, and other needs. It's nice to know that you won't have to worry about paying rent or buying food every month while you're an international student.

  2. Private Rentals

The majority of students elect to live off campus, either alone or in a shared flat. It's the choice that allows you the most leeway in determining how you'd like to handle expenses. You could, for instance, choose a more affordable option in the suburbs if your college is located in the city. You may spend more time on the road getting to university, but your wallet will be grateful. Keep in mind that the attractions of Australia's major cities are well-known all around the world. We think it's great if living further away from campus allows you to experience more of the city.

  3. Homestays

Studying in Australia while living with an Australian family is a rare opportunity for international students. You'll be paying them for the use of a room in their house and eating with them. Why not give it a go if you want to adapt into Australian culture as much as possible.

  4. Hotel and Temporary housing

For the first few weeks or months in a new city, a lot of international students live in temporary housing. Some possibilities for temporary housing are hotels and hostels. Housing accommodations, which could be provided by your school temporarily, could be one of the options.
