Visa Fees for Employer Sponsored Visas

A general guide regarding the government’s cost in making employer sponsored visa applications is provided below:

Temporary Skill Shortage (TSS) 482 Application Fees Variable This application is made up of three parts:

Sponsorship fee $420

Nomination fee $330

Visa fees: The visa fee depends on which list the nominated occupation appears on.

Occupation on the MLTSSL: $2,400 for the main applicant, $2,400 for a partner (and any child over 18) and $600 for each child under 18 years of age.

Occupation on the STSOL: $1,150 for the main applicant, $1,150 for a partner (and any child over 18) and $290 for each child under 18 years of age.

A subsequent temporary application charge of $700 per applicant if the applicant has previously lodged certain temporary visas whilst in Australia. This includes a second 417 visa or a second student visa.

407 Trainee Visa Application Fee Variable This application is made up of three parts:

  • Sponsorship fee $420.
  • Nomination fee $170.
  • Visa fee $280 for the main applicant, $280 for a partner (and any child over 18) and $70 for each child under 18 years of age.

A subsequent temporary application charge of $700 per applicant if the applicant has previously lodged certain temporary visas whilst in Australia. This includes a second 417 visa or a second student visa.

Permanent Employer Nominated Scheme (ENS) Visa Application Fee   This application is made up of two parts:

  • Nomination fee: $540 (waived if the sponsor is in a regional area and the application is in the Temporary Resident Transition stream).
  • Visa fee of $3,670 for the main applicant, $1,835 for a partner (and any child over 18) and $920 for each child under 18 years of age.
Employer Nominated Scheme (ENS) Direct Entry Skill Assessment Variable All ENS Direct Entry Stream applicants must undertake a skill assessment. The applicant must hold a positive skill assessment prior to the visa being lodged.
Permanent Regional Sponsored Migration Scheme (RSMS) Visa Application Fee Variable Visa fee of $3,670 for the main applicant, $1,835 for a partner (and any child over 18) and $920 for each child under 18 years of age.
Regional Sponsored Migration Scheme (RSMS) Direct Entry Variable This fee ranges from $0 – $1,000 and is payable directly to the Regional Certification Board in the relevant region. Some RSMS Direct Entry applicants also need to undertake a skill assessment as part of the application process.
English test (if required) Approx. $350 This fee is payable directly to the English language testing centre.
Medical Examination Approx. $500 per adult and $350 per child This fee is payable for each person included in your application and must be paid directly to the doctor conducting your examination.
Police Checks Variable This fee is payable to the police authorities in the countries where you have lived for 12 months or more. Whereas, in Australia it costs approx. $45 for National Police Check.
Translation of Documents (if required) Variable This fee is payable to the person responsible for certifying / translating your documents.

NOTE: If you have got your employer sponsored visa refused, then you might still be able to appeal the decision. The fee for appeal at The Administrative Appeals Tribunal (AAT) is $1,731. Study International fee for managing an AAT appeal varies depending on the complexity of the case.
